A wonderful little French-meets-American bistro in Hyde Park, bringing Parisian classics with a modern twist to the neighborhood.
Steph Steele has always kept food at the center of her journey. After 24 years at Whole Foods Market, including leading the flagship store, her vision grew into something more personal: a place built on service, quality and good food, where people gather.
In 2015 Steph returned to school and earned a degree in Organizational Leadership and Communication. Her time with Bunkhouse taught the value of design, hospitality and attention to detail. Projects like Swedish Hill showed how every choice shapes a space people want to be in.
On March 8, 2021, Steph opened Tiny Grocer on South Congress. That success became the foundation for a bigger vision in Hyde Park, a neighborhood bistro where food, wine and connection come together in a space that feels local, warm and welcoming.
Tiny Grocer Café is more than a place to eat. Years of experience in food, service and design shaped every detail. The mission is to bring people together and create a true community space. Every dish reflects a passion for French food and hospitality.
Our place
Wooden booths, a long banquette and bar seating fill the dining room. Out back, a naturally shaded garden patio works all year, fans and misters in summer, heaters when it cools off.

Tiny Grocer Café was founded by Steph Steele, who spent 24 years at Whole Foods Market before opening Tiny Grocer.
